Rev Dr Mvume and Dr Phumzile Dandala Foundation
The Rev Dr Mvume and Dr Phumzile Dandala Foundation’ celebrates the work of Rev Dr Mvume and Dr Phumzile Dandala. They were born in the Eastern Cape Province in the Districts of Mt Ayliff (EmaXesibeni) and Lusikisiki and were married on the 15th December 1973. They served in East London, Empangeni, Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and the rest of South Africa together. Rev Dr Dandala served as a Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa from 1996 to 2003. In 2003 Mvume served the All-Africa Conference of Churches based in Nairobi whilst Phumzile studied Food Security in the United Kingdom. They returned to South Africa in 2008 and Mvume, for a short period led the Parliamentary team of the Congress of the People. In 2010 he returned to the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and served with it until 2015. The Foundation seeks to honour their selfless dedication to the welfare of the South African people
